i am taking up prairie dog shooting as a hobby. girlfriend says i need to exercise and walk more. since the prairie dog towns around here require lots of walking up and down hills and i like to hunt/shoot stuff. i figured this would be the hobby for me. the gas for the truck is getting expensive by having to drive it. i used to have around 10 prairie dogs around my house in the pasture. but i got all those so now im having to travel, that was easy to get them though. i would step out my back door and get those ones.

so now im looking for gun rack for my 650l. im crossed between getting one for the handle bars, since im not sure if that would create problems reaching controls. or getting the black plastic gun cases that are made for 4 wheelers. im leaning more towards the plastic case. because if for some reason i wipe out with rifle on the handle bars. that rifle is gonna get damaged. but then im not sure how i would attached the plastic case.

so does anyone have some ideas?

Cracked, Google "Military Motorcycles". Most have a scabbard of some sort (assuming you're toting a rifle). Check out the way this scabbard is mounted near the aft end of the bike:

With that angle you might be able to add a grenade launcher, too! What? LOL!!

back in the day, I carried my scoped rifle with a standard military style sling across my back (barrel up, & safety plug in). Granted, that was a Cafe Racer, not an off road machine, but unless you forget what your objective is (varmint hunting, not doing wheelies and getting sideways), I doubt there will be a problem. Interestingly enough, I never got pulled over by the cops with my rifle strapped to my back cruising the So. Cal roads just south of L.A.! Ah, how times have changed!

i think i thought of something. from the picture of the green bike. maybe i could make a bracket that comes off the passenger pegs mount. then bolt the plastic case to that. i have asked the local sheriffs dept transporting a firearm on a motorcycle was legal. the sheriff didn't know. so he called me back a few days later. and said he couldn't find anything that says it was illegal. he asked the county attorney also and he said it would be like in a car, as long as its in plain view and not loaded. its not a problem.

I dont have a pic of one, but how about a slide in case that the cowboys had on their horses? I used to have one for my 30/30. But I do also think slinging it across the back would work good as long as the rife is small and lite. Maybe an uuzee would work!?
