hey just swapped in a supposedly brand new qmb139-3 engine in my baja because the old qmb139 engine self destructed and i had to swap out the stators, just got that done yesterday all the lights, horns, starter, etc. work but when im cranking the engine with the starter there is no spark, i need some help figuring out what i did wrong

i have a 6 pin cdi box and i noticed a red wire had been ripped out of the connector would this be my problem, also would pick-up gap or something be a contributing factor?

Are you getting spark at the end of the spark plug?

ya im getting spark from the plug i got it to run for about 5 seconds today i had a brain blast and poured some oil down the manifold sense it started to sound like low compression yet its a new engine? so poured the oil and the sprayed some gas in after i cranked it with the oil and it ran for a few seconds off the gas i put in, so now im wondering if the valve clearances are too tight or may something else be wrong? maybe a topic for the engine forum?

i put the carb on and it runs but now i need to find the kill wire the key and the kill switch have no effect and it may be because one of the wires in the cdi is loose?
