hi, anybody know how much fork oil is required for an 01 ktm 400 exc? cc or ml pls. i took the forks and caps off to change the oil. i know we need to measure it without the spring etc to be accurate, but i only want to change the fork oil and service it later for an annual teardown. thanks

According to the manual I have (WP 4860 MA 48mm), it says:
- Fork Oil: SAE 5
- Air Chamber Length: 110mm
UPDATE: 300ml might be close because the '01 forks were 43mm as opposed to 48mm. Either way, the 110mm from the top should get you in the ballpark.

hi, i cant measure the height cos i only take the fork cap off, the spring & stuff still intact, thats why i can only pour out the oil, it was about 300ml, so i poured back 300ml to be 'safe', however i had some 'leak' awhile ago, thats why i am worried if i had put back enough oil.

There is a spell checker on this website you know. Not trying to be rude but some old timers (not me) can't decipher those codes!
