XR650L 2007 Spark plug wire

Post by ffinmich » Sat Dec 01, 2018 7:55 am

Hello
I have a XR650L 2007. I was changing the spark plug and the yellow boot that go's over the spark plug came apart from the black wire that I'm not sure where it goes to, Can this be fixed or do I need to but something new.
Thanks

If you look into the sparkplug cap , where the sparkplug wire goes into , it looks like the pointed end of a wood screw. Cut about 3/8 of an inch off of the end of the sparkplug wire , push it into the cap and twist the cap while pushing on it to screw the cap back onto the wire. If there's part of the wire still in the cap , you'll have twist it out with a pair of needle nose pliers first. Next time , pull on the cap , not the wire. It'll screw back in easier if you give it a squirt of Armorall or spray lube , so the cap spins on the outside of the wire easier.
