Each product or service reviewed by is based on real-world evaluations and includes an overall rating. Our rating system is based on a scale from 1 to 5 and is defined as follows:

5 - Extremely high quality, extremely useful, should not be without!
4 - High quality, great value, very useful, highly recommended
3 - Good quality, good value, useful, recommended
2 - Average quality, has some use, no recommendation
1 - Low quality, no real value or gains, not recommended

In some cases a rating may be an average of two or more ratings. For example, if the quality of a product or service is just average (2) but it is extremely useful (5), we might rate it at 3½ or 4. In any case, each of the reviews has a description of how it was rated.

The Fine Print: We are not paid and will not accept payment for any review we perform. The reviews you see on are true-to-life real-world reviews that have actually been performed by us or our members. If an item or service rates poorly or just fair, we will tell you. After all it is our creditability that is on the line as well. In most cases the products and services we evaluate are good (3) to outstanding (5). The hard part is actually making a determination as to how good the product or service is.
