I drilled two holes in flat bar style tire irons and bolted them directly on the frame of my XR650L where the buddy or passenger pegs used to attached. These type of tire irons are cheap and you can reuse the existing bolts. The project takes about 20 minutes to complete. Now I have tire irons on the trail and don't have to carry them in a tool pouch!
