So I've done daves mods and want to double check to be sure before proceeding: the pilot jet I got to put in is one of the long ones like out of a PJ. In the mods post to do this, it says to REMOVE the plastic splash baffle. Am I reading that right? I just want to be absolutly sure as I hate taking this carb on and off. Thanks.

2007 XR650L (Traded Up for CRF) - relocated turn signals mod
2008 CRF450X - JD jet kit, 165 main, red needle 4th groove, adj fuel screw, opened up airbox, JB Weld smog block off.

dont take it off, just modify it to clear the pilot jet

This is how I did mine.

2007 XR650L - Northern California, elevation 300' - Dave/Brian carb mods, UNI air filter, mixture screw 1.5 turns, 55/165, needle 0.030 raised, Clark 4.7 tank w/support, Vapor computer, D606 rear tire,Pirelli scorpion pro front tire, fork brace,EBC 320mm front rotor,
