Hi, I am looking for the plastic piece that goes around the headlight. I am looking for a red one, with or without the white honda sticker on the front, im guessing it would be from 2000-2007. I am also looking for a stock speedometer that has under 2000 miles on it. I have seen some chinese knock-off's on ebay, but im not sure about the quality. If anyone has any of these or know where to get these items (besides the Honda dealer), please post here. Any input is also incouraged. Thank you!

Still looking for the plastic piece around the headlight. Should I just can the whole thing and buy a Baja Designs Headlight. Will it fit with all of the wires back there and with the stock speedo? Im sure I would be able to shave a few pounds if I got rid of the stock light and did this. Any input or help finding this part would be great. Thanks in advance, James Wilson

Little late on responding to this post but This response may help someone. I installed a baja designs headlight on an xr650l today.
I removed all the metal rings and brackets that hold the stock headlight. In place of the metal bracket that bolted on the bottom of the speedometer (dash) I put two 6mm fender washers and an oem honda strap (Clip, wire harness/91404-VM6-000) to hold the bundle of wires up against the dash. The bunch of connectors on the clutch side I zip tied together neatly. The horn I used from baja designs but bending the stock horn bracket will allow the stock to work. As for the turn signal relay, I made a small "L" bracket to mount on the inside of the headlight or you can just zip tie it to the inner side of the headlight. As for the headlight, baja designs plugged right into the stock harness connector, and the rubber straps mounted to the fork tubes. Check the prices, If you are rough on headlights, the baja designs unit is way more affordable to maintain than stock. Less parts are less parts to break, and maybe less weight as well. |
