Subject: Tech Article: Installing lights on the XR200R I saw the article on installing lights on a XR200R (4Strokes.com Honda Tech: Installing Lights on the Honda XR200R), but it was done on a 2001 XR200R. I have a 96' XR200 and was wondering if they came with lighting coils on the stator in that year, and if I could do the same to my bike. Anybody know anything?

Reply author: XR250rdr I'm pretty sure its identical. I dont think they changed much after 93. I highly doubt Honda would stop putting a lighting coil on the bike after they took the light off then add back the lighting coil later without putting a light on it.
Reply author: Admin It's super easy to find out. Just lay your bike down on its side:
Reply author: XRmachine Thanks guys, I think i will give it a shot!
Reply author: Spiderman Like the others have said, ya should have one. My '90 has it, I think it only puts out like 60 watts. Enough to add a 35 watt'er so you can get home, &/or let others see you coming through the trees.
Reply author: WtrmnRidge This is really helpfull information. In the winter time it can get dark in the Washington woods real quick.

Reply author: sled102 I have a 2000 xr200 that I am trying to put a headlight on. I got a voltage reg and it has 4 wires, 2 yellow 1 red and 1 black, I hooked the 2 yellow wires up to wires coming from stator 1 yellow and 1 pink. the red wire I hooked to headlight and the black to frame. when I crank the bike light burns very dim and when I rev engine the light gets dimmer as the rpms pick up till it goes out. I have tried switching the yellow wire and hooking the black to the headlight with the same results © 2000-2009 4Strokes.com |
