Pick the parts you like from different bikes and make them fit!

Frame: Bending the stainless steel rear subframe was an issue (finding someone with a 5/8" tubing bender). Also machined custom brackets to bolt on the rear frame. Seat: Saddlemann made a really nice seat for the bike. I had the glass seat/fender made 2" longer and 1/2" wider than the standard champion 250 seat/fender.
Fork: Ohlins fork needed to a have a custom stem cut and welded, with bushing made and welded, for the bearings to fit the frame. I had the fork revalved and shortened about 5-6". Shock: The stock rear shock was shortened 1" and revalved. Lowered the rear 4-5" with an Eibach 650lb race spring.
Rear: Custom turned aluminum bushings for the rear hub fitting on the swing-arm. Tank: I like the 78-79 CR250R aluminum tank, so I used it.

This project was a lot of work and wasn't cheap to do. Parts alone are high, plus quality welding is pricey as well. Well worth it to me though! It's almost complete now. I need to update the photos.

Update: Old Guy sold his XR650L flat tracker on ebay. Unfortunately we do not have any further information on it except for what is in our Forums under Posts by Old guy and Archived Posts by Old guy.
